All hosted and curated by the Proprietor of The Chateau herself, Miss Coco Patron, Take Me To Church is here to celebrate and showcase the beautiful diversity and talent of our most exciting queer performers, and babies do we have some treats in store for you this month!
We invite you to descend into the depths of Camberwell's subterranean DIY LGBTQ+ drinking den, bathe in the light of the original stained glass windows that cloak our cosy SE London basement, and prepare to bow down at the glorious ALTAR OF QUEERNESS.

Lewis Walker
Lewis Walker, also known as DragonT or Xavia, is a queer, London based, Artist, Contemporary Dancer, fundraiser and Ex GB Gymnast. Until the age of 21 they competed as a GB Acrobatic Gymnast have now moved into the creative in world.
Lewis’ art looks at how their past has generated and created false perceptions of reality and by how unfolding their sub-conscious, they can be conscious. They explore the diversity of having queer identity and how suppression of self created queerphobia.
Don One
Don One from Bir-ming-ham (now based in east London) is one of the hottest drag kings on the scene right now and is on a mission to spread a special kind of Brummie love all over the land!
Don One is a regular on the queer cabaret scene and is also co-host of the UK’s biggest Drag King competition Man Up 2020! Before hosting the competition, Don was quoted as being one of “the funniest judges” in Man Up 2019. Don One is also a regular headlining act at the Glory’s Saturday Night Cabaret, Wotever World and BoiBox.
Don will take you through a songbook of anthems that you can’t help but sing along to - topped off with some funny one-liners and a show-stopping performance that you definitely won’t forget!
Vijay Patel
Vijay Patel is a performance artist based in London. He crosses forms from live art, performance art and queer club/cabaret. The work he makes predominantly surrounds cultural identity, making autobiographical/political work which relates to the current state we live in.
Séayoncé
The legendary Ghost Whisperer Séayoncé is lubed up to mystic it to you. Are you ready to hear tales of Séayoncé’s sordid past and your bleak future.
Nominated for best comedy act in the QX Cabaret Awards 2019. With performances at Soho theatre, Wales Millennium Centre, Edinburgh Fringe, Underbelly Southbank Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Canberra Spiegel-tent.

FULL ACCESSIBILITY INFO:
Unfortunately The Chateau is a basement venue with a staircase, therefore not wheelchair accessible.
The main space is entered from the street, with one step up from the pavement to the small lobby. To get to the bar there is a single staircase with 10 steps that has bannisters on either side. After 6 steps there is a a level platform, and door, leading to the venue, then, four more steps to get you into The Chateau. There are no steps or stairs once you are in the basement.
The smoking area is outside the main entrance, back on street level, managed by SIA security staff.
There are two toilet bays in the basement space, each are gender neutral and have no steps to them. The first toilets contains 2 stalls and 2 sinks, the second, has 2 urinals, 2 sinks and a stall.
There are banquettes, tables and stools around the space if you need to sit down we have varied options.
The overall bar has low lighting, we do not use strobe lights or a haze machine, the toilets are well lit. There is a quieter area in the back with no bar for people to sit and chat. The floors are wooden and we have a tiled dance floor.
